Sprint distance triathlon in Moana, South Australia. There were lots of waves today, I should have brought my board for surfing lol. My swim went well, wiggled in the waves, one arm, two arms, got sandwiched a few times by some guys but kept pushing that water as fast as possible. Off on the sand and then onto a technical bike course with some hills along the way. I put in a good effort and kept catching people. I arrived in transition at the same time as one of my fellow Meteors club members, Luke. We'll go on and run the 5K together with Luke leading the pace early on. I didn't have enough for the final sprint and Luke got a well deserved finish ahead of me. I'm happy to have run the 5km in about 20mins, my fastest run time so far since my comeback to triathlon. I finished second in my age group and almost equalled my PB on a much tougher course. It gives me great confidence ahead of a world cup event on the Sunshine Coast in less than 2 weeks! Big thanks to Bike Society for organising medals for all top 3 age groupers. It's nice to bring something home.
